Butt Ugly Strong

 

And that’s a good thing.  I had the pleasure of attending the CF Olympic Lifting Certification at CFLegacy this past weekend led by Fred Lowe and Debbie Hudson (who did an AMAZING job by the way), and I learned that I’m ‘butt ugly strong’.

So what does that mean?  That means that I have the capability of moving some pretty good weight around with pretty crappy form.  Ok…so not crappy, but definitely ‘unclean’ form.  Imagine what I can do after I practice all the skills and body positions that I learned this past weekend!?!?!

I’ve been crossfitting for 3 years now, and thought I had a pretty good grasp of the clean & jerk and the snatch.  Truth be told, I’m still in my infancy of learning.  Attending a certification gives you a big piece of humble pie in a good way.  You get to fine tune your own form while learning how you can help others.  I recommend and encourage you to attend the certifications that interest you.  No…you don’t have to have every cert, but if you like running, get an endurance cert, you like nutrition, get the nutrition cert.  I promise, you won’t be disappointed.  I sure know I haven’t.

10-5thmin: 110lbs
