Since December I’ve been training for The Games. You know what it is, but you think it’s some far off dream land that doesn’t really exist. I bumped through Sectionals with a 12th place finish, and continued to prepare for Regionals. Mentally you know you’ve got to step up your game because you’re going go face the best of the best from a 10 state region.
Then…I pull a third place finish out of my ass surprising everyone, especially myself. And you know you’ve got to step up your training even more because now you’re going to face off with the best of the best from around the world. Yes, the world. Only 50 women world-wide have qualified to be at The Games.
So for the last few weeks I’ve been stalking other Regional’s watching who qualifies, and I know a lot of the names. Why/how? Because I’ve been following The Games for 3 years and they’re regulars. This past weekend was the last weekend and that’s when it set in. This is real. There’s no more made up fiticious place. The Games are just around the corner and I’ll be there. Not in the stands screaming, but on the floor working my ass off. This sh*t just got real.
