After two weeks of avoiding moving any weight and eating everything I shouldn’t, I got back on the wagon today. And it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. ha!
After The Games I am finding it hard to really feel hungry to workout, so I’ve decided to start back with a strength program to ease myself in. The program I’ve decided to try is the Wendler 5 3 1 with a little metcon sprinkled in. So the 5 3 1 focuses on working at a percentage of your max, not maxing. The lifts are shoulder press, deadlift, bench press and back squat.
So how am I using this system four days a week of my 3 on 1 off looking like this
Day 1: Shoulder Press
Day 2: Deadlift
Day 3: Short metcon (10minute range)
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Bench Press
Day 6: Back Squat
Day 7: Metcon
Day 8: Rest
Today’s WOD: Shoulder Press 5×3; 63lbs x 5, 73lbs x 5, 81lbs x 8
