This past weekend I attended my second Level 1 CrossFit Certification. I originally attend the cert in November of 2008, and as we know, they’ve added a test, which I have taken once and I failed. My solution….retake the entire cert. Two reasons 1. I wanted to pretty much solidify that I’d pass the test 2. It’s never bad to refresh your training
And guess what I found out;
I could use some wall squats being I lean forward in my air squat
My shoulder press isn’t in optimal position due to tight shoulders
My snatch has a forward inclination, probably because my air squat has the same fault
and I’m sure there were more
and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s amazing to me to think that I made it to the 2010 CrossFit Games and I can improve the basics. Imagine what results I can attain refining the basics? That will trickle into everything else.
So don’t be afraid to swallow your pride and take a few steps back, you may surprise yourself on how it can help you propel forward.
