A common question I’ve gotten since returning from the 2011 CrossFit Games is, “if you weren’t hurt, how do you think you would have done?”
I don’t even want to pretend like I can answer that question. Yes I know where my training level was, yes I know my strengths, but there are SOOOOO many unknown factors that would have affected my performance like;
-the long days leading up to the games
-being in that environment
-how well I slept
-the order of the workouts
-someone kicking me in the face at the beginning of the swim
-and on and on and on…..
I think it’s impossible to say how anyone would have done that wasn’t there. There’s no way to recreate that environment. You can do all the wods in the same order with the same amount of downtime and it still wouldn’t compare. All I can worry about is getting myself back into competition shape by next year.
