If there’s one thing I’ve confirmed over the 2 1/2 years of owning my own business it’s that you can’t be ALL THINGS TO ALL PEOPLE ALL THE TIME
I’ve heard that over and over again, but it wasn’t until recently that I’ve figured out what that really means. There are always things that can be done or should be done, but how do you figure out what’s the most important?
There are several things to balance;
A personal life
Training to compete
Training the dog
My relationship with my girlfriend
and on…. and on….. and on…….
So how do I balance all? I don’t. Every day is a delicate balance moving things forward and not running myself into the ground. Often I find it hard to get 8 hours of sleep at night so I do my best to nap a few hours during the day. It’s not the best solution, but it’s my solution for now.
I test and retest different organizational tools, but at the end of the day I have to keep myself healthy so I can give everyone else the things they need to healthy. My priority changes day to day based on the timelines on projects, and at the end of the day I get done the things I need to get done, it’s just not always in the most planned out organized manor.
