Why do you CrossFit?

I have spent a lot of time over the last three years really exploring the reasoning behind why I CrossFit.  Not really by my choice but because I’ve had some serious life tests, well injuries really.

The main thing I’ve learned is that CrossFit is NOT about competing and beating the other guy.  Yes, its is a big part of what we all do or achieve to do.  We work hard everyday in our own affiliates so that when we reach the competition floor we have a chance to show of our hard work.

After each injury I had to ask myself ‘if I could NEVER compete again would I still want to CrossFit?’  And the answer without any question was YES!

Why did I start CrossFit?  Because I was almost 200lbs and I needed to get healthy and that’s just what I did.  I got really healthy and really fortunate to be good at competing. It was a by product of loving the challenge of tackling the board everyday.

For the past 6 months I’ve re-focused on loving the process and the craziest thing has happened.  I’ve gotten the best INJURY FREE results I’ve gotten EVER!  I enjoy working out.  I look forward to it.  And I don’t put any pressure on myself or making sure I lift a lot or move really fast.  I put in the best effort I can everyday.  And as long as its all I can do it’s all I can do.

So why do I CrossFit?  Because I truly love challenging myself and seeing what my body is capable of.
